A rare Cornish gin for Chef Tom Brown and the launch of his restaurant Cornerstone Hackney Wick
CLIENT: THE WRECKING COAST DISTILLERY
Challenge
Cornish Chef Tom Brown approached the Wrecking Coast Distillery to create an exclusive gin for his new restaurant, Cornerstone in Hackney Wick London. Our challenge was to develop the product label, balancing the brands cohesively. The Wrecking Coast Distillery, Tom Brown and the brand identity of his new restaurant.
Solution
After working on various routes and exploring options around the clever ingredients (pairing Cornish Polgoon apples to match the seafood menu) or adapting the artwork of the wrecking coast brand, we decided to de-clutter the concept and opt for a more premium approach. For us it just made sense to focus the creative mainly around the Cornerstone brand and adapting their soon to be iconic logo, to become the symbol for the product. It reinforced the synergy between the gin and the restaurant, doing what it was intended to do, to seamlessly enhance the brand and dining experience at the restaurant. The attention spent on the transparent label with foil lettering in gold was worth the effort to achieve the premium finish and also served as a gentle nod to the wrecking coast for being the geniuses behind the gin, if you will.
